Waterbed better than other mattresses

Water retains its flexible properties year after year, in contrast to mattress systems that simply wear out. Because it is filled with fluid, the Opti-Cow® Bedding system fully adapts to the body shape of the cow. The even upward pressure provided eliminates the risk of pressure points* forming on the hocks.

*Pressure points can cause hock abrasion, resulting in irritation of the skin. Pressure on the hocks, often lasting for hours, can obstruct blood circulation in the legs. This results in an increased risk of accumulation of waste products around the hocks, causing swelling with all its consequences.

Thanks to the rounded edges of the mattress, any urine or leaking milk simply drains away, significantlyreducing the risk of infection and the potential for mastitis. The Opti-Cow® Bedding system remains almost totally dry, delivering a considerable saving on litter use. Less litter and reduced labour substantially reduce costs.
